Can I teach myself to be an electrician?
You can learn the theory and fundamentals of electrical work through books and self-study, but becoming a licensed electrician requires hands-on training through an apprenticeship.
Most states mandate 4–5 years of supervised work experience plus passing a licensing exam. Books are best used as a foundation or supplement to real-world training.
